Greetings MCFA exhibitors and parents:
As we near the end of 2020 and begin the holidays, I wanted to take a few moments and share some information with you.
It has come to the attention of the MCFA Board that there have been several club meeting cancellations over the last few months due to Covid 19 and that some exhibitors may not be able to get in their 3 mandatory meetings to be eligible for participation in the 2021 MCF.
The fair board has discussed this issue and have decided to waive the 3 meeting rule for 2021. No exhibitor will be disqualified from participation because they did not get in their 3 meetings.
We do however recognize the importance of these 4H club and FFA chapter meetings in developing our youth into productive members of our society by enhancing leadership and personal growth. We would encourage exhibitors to continue trying to make as many meetings as possible, as these meetings are also a major way that we communicate information regarding the MCF.
We would also encourage exhibitors and parents to routinely check the MCFA website at mcfa.net for up to date information concerning the 2021 MCF.
Be assured that the MCFA is continually keeping up with the Covid 19 issues and concerns and are communicating with our local government officials to make sure we stay in compliance and that we can make the best informed decisions that will hopefully allow us to have a “normal” county fair as possible.
If at any time, you have a question concerning the 2021 MCF, please do not hesitate to contact me or a fair board member. You can also give your question to your county extension agent or ag teacher and they can pass it along to us.
Best wishes,
Bob Choiniere, MCFA President
